Does SuSE offer a way to install the distro from CD as a new install or upgrade that would compile EACH and EVERY package even the kernel during the install for optimal performance on each machine yes i know install would take MUCH longer but i would love to see this as an option if its not already????
thanks

I don't think there is such an option but I would bet money that:
If there were such an option, you would *never* be able to tell the difference whether you compiled everything or not. (unless you're doing some weird mathmatical analysis in which case you'd probably not be doing that with software that came on the CD's.)
Just what do you think you're going to gain? Compiling the kernel yourself would get you about 90% of the benefit. Have at it.
