Something I installed recently apparently broke my K3B install. Trying to get it to work, I removed the installation and reinstalled from the SuSE 9.0 DVD, knowing that the package on the DVD doesn't work. I then tried to upgrade K3B, using YOU, but there was no upgrade. I then tried Synaptic but Synaptic told me that there was a dependency conflict, i.e. I have KDE 3.1.x installed but I need KDE 3.2.x to be able to install the K3B upgrade. APT gave me the same error. At one time, however, there was a version of K3B that worked with KDE 3.1. Does anyone know how I can find and install that version? Or is there an alternative that I can use temporarily? Any assistance will be appreciated.
Don Henson I found that the 'system repair' tool sometimes works for those difficult issues. You can completely automate it or have it interactive, to a degree. It's accessible from the 'installation' menu item, then 'Repair...' option.
Failing that, perhaps someone else can shed more light. Though I did use k3b for quite awhile, I now use xcdroast so cannot comment on specifics.
