No mystery if you would try to do something even in KDE which needed
nautilus you would get an endless series of windows opening filling your
screen and making the system useless. It is beleived to be a gnome 1 vs
Gnome 2 conflict. So bad infact that some guys would setup separate
systems with only Gnome2 and no other window managers just to try to fix
it. No mention of the problem relating to 9.0 so obiously Gnome2 is out
of beta.

All this talk of 9 and 9.1 no mention is made of the Nautilus 2 problems which plagued 8.2.
Thing is, you talk about this mysterious nautilus problem without detailing what it is.
I suspect it's solved by unsetting /apps/nautilus/preferences/show_desktop and /desktop/gnome/background/draw_background in gconf-editor -- James Ogley, Webmaster, Rubber Turnip james@rubberturnip.org.uk http://www.rubberturnip.org.uk Jabber: riggwelter@myjabber.net Using Free Software since 1994, running GNU/Linux (SuSE 9.0).
