http://www.linuxprinting.org also have an impressive list of models which is/isn't supported. Their also have general recommendations of which brand to choose. HP and Epson is recommended, but (here in Denmark at least) the toner catridges for HP is rather expecsive so I think I'll go for an Epson the next time.. /Christian On Wednesday 24 March 2004 02:33, Matt T. wrote:

Any suggestions as to a SuSE-compatible printer would be appreciated. My Deskjet 970Cse seems to have printed its last character. :-\ Better the devil you know, then the devil you don't know. - --
I have a Canon S600 that works well.
No no no, no Canon printer!
They might work more or less by now with Linux, but only because of the huge efforts of friendly hackers to reverse engineering the drivers, without any help from Canon.
Canon (printer and scanner) is very Linux unfriendly, no support, no documentation.
Do not support that by buying from them.
Have a look at the gimp-print website http://gimp-print.sourceforge.net/ it is all there list of supported printers and drivers etc.
