Hi Donald,
So I took another stab getting the lan to work last night..& still it is a
no go... didn't get your email until the morning though.
Yes.. I do duel boot w/ windows XP...
In XP, everything is fine... so I know it's not a hardware thing
I'll check to see if the port is enabled when i get home tonight.
I did hit F2 while it was booting and saw this message
eth0 Failed
So I have downloaded the rpm that you mentioned & I've installed it using
Yast2.... it seems to install fine.. but since I can't really view (more
like I don't know how to view) the log file for error I'm not totally sure.
Unless, Yast2 will tell me there is an error if it runs into one.
Is it better to install it from a command line....
what is the command to install the rpm from a command line?
I've seen other postings about this, but never a solution... more often then
not the people end the discussion w/ the fact that they purchased a new NIC
for a couple of bucks & every thing worked fine after that..... an option
i'm contemplating now...
are there any other ethernet cards that you would recommend for suse 9.0???
thanks,
vu
