How is the license change bad? I didn't catch the whole story?
/. would tell you more then you'd like :) In a nutshell: XFree86 (or rather its head, David Dawes) added an advertising clause ( = this code uses ..... ) to 4.4, similar to the first BSD license. But the advertising clause is only attached to some of the files, so a distributor like SUSE would have to scrutinize each and every source file in every package to determine where to display/use the advertizing note. This is simply impossible for any distributor, at least for any commercial Linux distributor. Philipp
