Greetings! To get my USB memory stick to work(Some of you may remember my past post on the subject), I had to upgrade to the 2.4.25 kernel. I finally managed to get it to work. I wish I could tell you exactly what options are necessary to get the thing to work. At one point, I managed to crash the system by compiling support directly into the kernel. Anyway, with the new kernel built, I want to get sound working. What are the suggestions from the community? The latest ALSA release is 1.03. This is a higher release than what came with the 8.2 distro. What is the best way to proceed? Should I remove any ALSA RPMs and install from the sources? should I just install the new package and incur the RPM gods' wrath? Thanks for any suggestions. Chris...
