I have 2 machines which have recently been networked to each-other, one connects to the internet via dial-up, how would I go about configuring them both to connect to the net (configure one as a gateway, and the second to access that gateway) they are both running SuSE 9.0 networked via 100/Mbit LAN card. ----------------------------
Add a second NIC, get shorewall at shorewall.net then, using the quick start guide, do the two interface firewall. Via YAST add the second card and click ip forwarding, another name for masquerading. It's pretty easy but will require a bit of reading. I found most of my info searching for howto networking and reading this list. You might get lucky and get YAST to do it all for you without much thinking, but that;s not very likely in my experience. Good luck Richard
