using kde3.2.1, I recently added some truetype fonts, using the kde font installer. As intended I then could use these fonts in kde and oo. However java apps did not print anymore. While searching for a reason, I noticed that also kde and oo do not print any type 1 font anymore. (Truetype fonts do print fine though, and all fonts did print before). Then I found that ghostscript did not find any postscript fonts, and that is why it aborted instead of printing. This seams to affect only printing of type 1 fonts and printing from Java apps. Putting a font in /usr/share/ghostscript/Resource/Font/ and naming it "Courier" did make ghostscript more happy, it used this font now to substitute the other fonts it did not find. Upgrading ghostscript to the latest version (under SuSE 9.0) "ESP Ghostscript 7.07 (2003-07-12)" did make it again find the fonts in /usr/share/ghostscript/fonts/ . However type 1 fonts are still substituted in kde and in oo. java apps do print again, but the font sizes do vary without that I can recognize a pattern. One line is a little bigger, one line is a little smaller. Any ideas how I can get them to work again as before? Thanks, Matt
