Greetings all!
I have spent the weekend, off and on, trying to figure out what is going on with this memory stick.
I have a 256MB SanDisk Cruzer Mini that I have been trying to get to work with my SuSE 8.2 Pro system. Near as I can tell, the system sees the device, but I see no evidence that it's mounted anywhere.
I have the same device (great little gadget) and had the exact same issue with it upon first trying to use it. I honestly can't tell you at what kernel version I started having success, because I can't quite remember exactly. I just didn't use it in SUSE for the first few months of owning it. At some point, after making other pieces of hardware work and upgrading kernels along the way, I gave it another shot for kicks and it worked liked a charm. I'm currently running kernel 2.6.3 and the device works just right. /etc/mtab entry: /dev/sda1 /fob vfat rw,uid=1001,gid=1000 0 0 The UID/GID is purely optional, and it's just a convenience to me. ;) /proc/bus/usb/devices entry: T: Bus=01 Lev=01 Prnt=01 Port=00 Cnt=01 Dev#= 2 Spd=12 MxCh= 0 D: Ver= 2.00 Cls=00(>ifc ) Sub=00 Prot=00 MxPS=64 #Cfgs= 1 P: Vendor=0781 ProdID=8185 Rev= 1.25 S: Manufacturer=SanDisk Corporation S: Product=Cruzer Mini S: SerialNumber=000035205 C:* #Ifs= 1 Cfg#= 1 Atr=80 MxPwr= 70mA I: If#= 0 Alt= 0 #EPs= 2 Cls=08(stor.) Sub=06 Prot=50 Driver=usb-storage E: Ad=81(I) Atr=02(Bulk) MxPS= 64 Ivl=0ms E: Ad=02(O) Atr=02(Bulk) MxPS= 64 Ivl=0ms I'd troubleshoot starting at the kernel version. I did at some point have success with a 2.4 series kernel, but memory fails me on which revision. Hope that's enough info to get you in the right direction. -John -- Where Zen ends, the ass kicking begins...
