Questions:
Does the ftp install allow:
1. Selection of drive to install?
Yes, it's a standard installation just with a different source.
2. Give xfs support as a file system option? (Need to read hdb, with the Suse 8.1 install)
Yes
3. When it sets up grub, will it also see my 8.1 and Libranet installs? 3a. How can I verify the above during the install, or can you?
Yes, and if the already installed bootloader is lilo it will use that and add the new installation instead of overwriting it (unless you tell it to.) You have the option to make custom bootloader settings at the relevant point - hence you can check to suggested config.
I've done several ftp (and nfs) installs - cleans, dual/milti-boots, and upgrades - and once the source location is configured properly it's absolutely no different to a CD or DVD install.
Thanks Dylan! Will give it a shot! But if it doesn't work, can you come over to help fix it? I will buy the beer! I'm in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Also, love the sig! It is a shame most people don't grasp it! Harry G
