Congradulations on getting SUSE 9.0 installed.

The patches directory is the first thing YOU
(YasST2 Online Update) installs,
so it knows what is available to download.

The "socket error: 111" is saying the server is too buzy,
there is no socket available for a download connection.

So try again, or try another server, or at a different time.
Remember about time zones.

(In YOU there is a window... "expert",
where you can change the "mirror"
I have often used: ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse
but sometimes "leo" or "sunet.se" or whatever is better..

Good luck,
Friendly greetings,

PS post again if it still doesn't work...
