Suse 9 Pro.
I have my home directory and one other directory shared via Samba Server. One shows up in the Windows network browser and the other does not. The one that does not is a windows FAT32 partition - can you export an underlying FAT32 partition via Samba? It's mounted as /windows/D and is accessable from the desktop.
If I try to access the one that shows up (home directory), I am asked for a username and password. I supply the correct information and am told I have no access???
Questions: what syntax is used for the username/password challenge? username - password machinename\username - password ? I'm assuming that there is some kind of authentication problem going on?
Any advice would be greatly apperciated.
Thanks- Dan
You need to add the user to samba using smbpasswd -a
