I get an excellent display of CDE using 1024x768 at 16 or 24 bpi, but the text font looks slightly different and no errors, using KDE both on my laptop (needs 24 bpi I think, 16 bpi I seem to remember makes the login too big) and on another Linux machine sharing the Sun monitor with the Ultra 5. I get no font errors using KDE.
