What's the difference between FireFox and Firebird?
Firefox is the mozilla browser, firebird is a pretty nice RDBMS
When firebird (the browser) went to 0.8 they changed the name to firefox, I guess the pressure from the firebird (the database) people finally got to them
according to the devs (really just ben goodger as he's the only steady dev), they came to an agreement with the firebird (database) folks shortly after firebird (browser) 0.7 was released that when 0.8 was released it would get a new name. the release of 0.8 was delayed by almost two months while the name was chosen, researched, and the registration of the trademark was started. -- trey
