Open your KAMix program up and adjust the settings for everything. I have found something like this is usually the result of "surround" sound settings, which I doubt you have setup there. It may be that one of the settings is just set too high as well, causing the sound system to overdrive the card.
KAmix did not reveal a problem, but ALSAMIXER(GUI) did. A device "IEC9581" was the culprit. I still do not know what that is. Thanks for the help. Ed Harrison
