Can't start MySQL saith the newbie.

HI all. I just installed SuSE 9.0 via ftp. I have installed apache and php and now I would like to get mysql running. I installed mysql and mysql client via YAST but I can't seem to start it. I type mysql start at the command line and get the following error. Any ideas? Regards from Denmark.
