As I said before a lot of ftp servers place restrictions on how many connections can be active at the same time. If a server will not accept a anonymous login, it generally means that site has reached that limit. Most servers are mirroring a large number of other data as well.
Try these sites ftp://mirror.mcs.anl.gov/pub/suse/ ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux
So, even though I get the unable to update patches error I should keep trying this address and eventually it may connect? ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/suse/i386/supplementary/KDE/update_for_9.0/ Or might I have an error somewhere in the url?
Thanks! dmc
DMC, I had the exact same problem you had. I tried and tried and finally was able to connect to the ftp.leo.org one that had been mentioned a while ago. Keep trying, Mike Sacco
