Help! My Linux box was working properly last night, but today I am unable to login as the default user. The symptoms are:
<SNIP> Firstly - make sure you go back to only having ONE user per UID. You can try deleting all the files and directories in /tmp which contain the relevant user name, and the files in the user's home directory begining .DCOP along with the .mcop folder. If that fails, the rename the .kde directory in the user's home directory (kde will recreate a default one, but you can copy files back one at a time.)
