Problems with smbmount command

Hi all.
I do have a quite strange and unusual problem.
I want to connect to a samba drive within my domain (same network) but when
I call the smbmount with the command line:

smbmount //myServer.domain.com/drive$ /tmp/test -o username=domain\\user

Linux asks me to enter my domain password and the fails with

ERRDOS - ERRnoaccess (Access denied.)

And I know that my password is correct.

When I use the smbclient command with:

smbclient //myServer.domain.com/drive$ -U domain\\user

and then the same password it works.

To see whats really the problem I used another client within my network
which runs on Redhat Linux and there it works. !

I guessed that the settings for samba client were wrong but I copied the
settings from the RedHat PC (smb.conf) to mine and it still didnt work at
all.
A difference between these two PCs is that Suse9.0 comes with the samba
client version 2.2.8-Suse and Redhat runs on 2.2.7.

Does anybody have a clue where I can adust something ?

thanks,

detlef
