There is almost certainly nothing wrong with your notebook, it is Linux which
does not (yet) support Suspend and Hybernation. That is indicated to be
working with the upcoming Linux kernel 2.6 (I assume you are still using the
standard SuSE 9.0 kernel 2.4)
