Hello world, Are the two of us the only ones having this problem ? Has everybody else solved it ? Then please let us know how ! TIA and HAND,
I just made a trial, no problem to type or print the eurosign with OO on SuSe 9.0 Pro
Hmm, thanks for the message, but ...... did you try your print with the € somewhere in the middle of a sentence ?
Yes, in the middle of a word or of a sentence !
Does it work OK without having done something special ? Did you also have to do some special xmodmap tricks to get the € working, or did it work right out of the box ?
Yes it worked out of the box ! with OO, SO and even with MS Office with SuSE Wine Rack.
And .... what kind of keyboard are you using ? It is French I presume ?
Yes, It is an office keyboard from MS My printer is a HP Laserjet 1200 Catimimi.
Maybe the keyboard makes the difference !? I'm using a standard US-keyboard layout with the € at AltGr 5, which I only could get to work after a lot of configuration settings.

I have exactly the same problem. Any help will be highly appreciated.
One detail on the euro sign in spreadsheets: it works fine when the cell contains an amount in euro (formated as "currency") - when a cell contains text containng the euro sign, the same problem as with writer exists.

Indeed, I have this problem too. But no solution yet ! :-(

Hello, After a lot of trial and errors I managed to get the Euro sign correctly working on my SuSe Professional 9.0 system. Also typing that sign in OpenOffice (1.1.0) documents is no problem. But ........... when I subsequently print an OO Textdocument it looks like the Euro-sign is acting like a kind of back-tab. The characters of the line containg the Euro are printed on top of each other, thus producing an unreadable line. Printing an OO Spreadsheet containing the Euro sign gives no problems. Does anybody recognize this problem and know a solution ? TIA and cheers,
