Hi all,
I'd wonder anyone has any trick to make alsa survive 'suspend/resume' on IBM TP30 laptop. It's quite annoying to run alsaconf all the time. I've googled up something involving /usr/sbin/apmd_proxy modification but it doesn't work at all, perhaps reason being is it was for SuSe 8.0 and I use 8.2.
Any advice would be much appreciated.
Martin, question:
How did you get suspend/resume working on your laptop? I'm trying to get it to work on a Compaq with SUSE 9.0, but AFAIK the swsusp patch is not included in SUSE's kernel. Trying to patch the kernel with the swsusp software fails... :-(
I've installed SuSe with apci=on, apm=on, modified grub to turn apci off, modified a bit /etc/sysconfig/powermanagement file to unload NIC module etc and allow suspend on AC ... that's about it :). I found out my laptop would work with apci too, but suspend/resume is not suported yet. The only thing which doesn't work is 'hibernate' despite the fact I've created special partition. perhaps you can take a look at http://www.linux-on-laptops.com/ for some hints. Martin
So, what's the secret?
Regards Harry
