David Gleba
I installed kernel source kernel-source-2.4.21-144 using yast.
Then I realized I have vmlinuz-2.4.21-99-athlon.
I uninstalled the kernel source -144. tried to install -99 by clicking on it in konqueror and press install with yast. Nothing happens.
I tried rpm -if kernel-source-2.4.21-99, Nothing happens.
What I want to do in recompile the kernel to make vmware happy.
I get many errors in vmware-config.pl with no proper kernel sources installed.

David, if both YaST2 and Konq are giving you trouble, why don't you just download using "ftp" and install using: rpm -Uvh *.rpm You didn't say what version of SuSE you are using, I am guessing 9.0 If so, you can find both the latest kernel-source, and k_athlon 2.4.21-166 at: http://www.suse.com/us/private/download/updates/90_i386.html (If you are going to re-install you might as well upgrade with latest Security Patch !!! If you have SuSE 8.2 or whatever, just adjust as needed.
