to install SuSE 9 on a Sony Vaio
excuse my reply ~ I am bashful to display my dark-night ignorance. I wonder if it is possible to extract the hard-disk from the Sony Vaio , and plug it into another puter running linux. { maybe you don't need to take it out ~ maybe you can unplug your CD ribbon cable from your linux puter, and plug that ribbon cable into your Sony Vaio HD ? } Then, mkreiserfs on the Sony Vaio HD, next mount that HD and, finally, clone the whole Linux system from your puter running linux. use TAR like this :- tar clf - . | ( umask 0; cd /mnt; tar xvf - ) This will take about 10 minutes. When, finished, plug the HD back into the Sony Vaio ~ prolly the thing will work, with some screen adjustment with Sax2 best wishes ____________ sent on Linux ____________
