I noticed after a clean install that dhcpd has dynamic dns updates turned on by default. This causes the dhcpd server to crash. If it cannot contact the dns server . Leaving only this message in the log Jan 6 13:12:01 server dhcpd: if host.tld.com IN A rrset doesn't exist add host.tld.com 606000 IN A 192.168.111.95: timed out. After I changed a dhcpd.conf to include ddns-updates off; ddns-update-style none; The problem was resolved. -- Regards, Jason Kurtz A+,CCNA,MCSE,MCSA,MCDBA NOGUSKA 741 N.
