Can anyone point me in the direction of a howto document for setting up a mail server on the end of a cable modem connection?
I have done this previously with Exchange 2000 but scrapped it after getting bored. I have the domain & dns hosted by www.no-ip.com so all I need to do is configure my suse box for the mail handling part.
At a minimum: Set the POSTFIX_LOCALDOMAINS variable in /etc/sysconfig/postfix to the names of the local host plus the domains for which you expect to receive mail. Set the SMTPD_LISTEN_REMOTE in /etc/sysconfig/mail variable to "yes". Restart Postfix with "SuSEconfig --module postfix". Set the FW_SERVICES_EXT_TCP variable in /etc/sysconfig/SuSEfirewall2 to include smtp. Restart the packet filtering with "rcSuSEfirewall2 restart".
