As far as I know, Linux Media Labs (http://www.linuxmedialabs.com/) is
the only manufacturer which supports video processing on Linux.
I would also like to convert my old video tapes to MPEG (probably SVCD).
Unfortunately, cards supporting compression are a bit expensive and the
one without compression requires faster computer than I have at home
now.
I tried to do it with the cheap Hauppauge WinTV card but my 550 MHz PIII
was too slow to capture both sound and video in good quality.
