Hi,
First of all, Happy New Year to all of you!
I think this is the first time that I post a question instead of answering one in this list :)
I would like to be able to archive some of my old video tapes by converting them to MPEG and burning them on CD-ROM. I assume I need some kind of MPEG Encoder card for this, preferably with a TV Tuner as well as a normal video input port.
What kind of hardware (Manufacturer/Model) would you recommend for this? What are your experiences? Any useful URLs? I've seen the VDR pages, but this looks like you need a Satellite Dish, if you want to record normal broadcast TV. I only have cable, but it would be neat if there is a way to record cable TV as well. But the main focus is on recording from a video source.
Thanks in advance for your help,
