Did you try the k3b version from the packman side? The available version is: k3b;0.10.3-0.pm.1;i586;packman

I just down is from nectar.mathematik.uni-bielefeld.de/pub/linux/misc/packman/suse/9.0/i586/ and that actually seemed to make things worse in that it dies faster. That is, I can write less than before, even when setting the buffer to 20Mb. (I write about 4MB of 274 MB). This getting extremely frustrating. I know for a fact that I was able to write CDs successfully when I first installed the system. So, something must have changed. However, I don't know what. Any ideas on what I can/should do to return the system (i.e. the CD writer components, devices, etc-) to a fresh state without re-installing. This isn't Windows, ya know. ;-) Regards, jimmo -- --------------------------------------- "Be more concerned with your character than with your reputation.
