Hi,

Checked the logs?
/var/log/xinetd.log /var/log/messages
What do they say about your attempts to start xinetd? Leen
Good idea. I lost my old habits (Linux works better and better). In /var/log/messages: Bad log_on_failure flag RECORD [line=12] A local error was encountered while parsing the default section, xinetd will exit In /etc/xinetd.conf: log_type = FILE /var/log/xinetd.log log on_failure = HOST ATTEMPT RECORD === /var/log/xinetd.log does not exist I commented in /etc/xinetd.conf The line: #log_on_failure = HOST ATTEMPT RECORD And ... I can make FTP connection now. Apparently xinetd failed to log a failure. Problem of SuSE default configuration?
