My guess is, that your pre-installed WinXP is using only one single partition
that consumes the whole hard disk space.

You could reject the partitioning proposal made by YaST2 and enter the expert
partitioning dialogue (within YaST2). Then you will see what partitions
exist.

On the command line: "fdisk -l".

You could do so even during the installation: press <Ctrl>-<Alt>-<F2> to get a
text console and enter the "fdisk -l" command. Then change back with
<Ctrl>-<Alt>-<F7> and continue with the installation if you want.
