Sid; I have added the lines under linux kernal in /boot/grub/menu.lst but these do not work, any other suggestions.
Add this to /etc/pam.d/login
session required pam_resmgr.so
What changed was that 8.2 shipped with the resource manager and they brainfarted and didn't tell anyone that you have to have this line in this file in order for regular users to use K3B and other such software. It's still an "unknown" in 9.0 as well and YaST2 has no facilities to add this. If ya don't know about it you're kinda up a creek. Sucks eh? ;)

Nope, I don't think thats the problem.
I don't have those lines in /etc/pam.d/login (on both of the machines with scsi emulation and cd burners) and I burn just fine with k3b.
So did I as root. But I couldn't get K3B to see the devices when I ran the k3bsetup as a user..once I talk to a couple of SUSE people I found out that this was needed. But if yours works and it's not the problem ..cool. :) -- Ben Rosenberg ---===--- #147972 ---===--- mailto:ben@whack.org -- Why do we bother with a suicide watch when someone is on death row?
