SuSe 8.0 and SAS 9.0 install (LDT Threads?)

      Hiya,

I am trying to install SAS 9.0 on SuSe 8 and am told that I need a glibc
with LDT threads for it to install correctly.  Currently I have kernel
2.4.18 and glibc 2.2.5-38 and I do not have a /lib/i686 directory.  I
have tried to install the rpm glibc-2.2.5-163.i686.rpm but recieved the
error message:
error: failed dependencies:
        filesystem   is needed by glibc-2.2.5-163

If someone could point me to the correct libc install package, I would
appreciate it.
