Hello All, A friend suggested I upgrade my sound card (the MB integrated one is not so great).
Hmmm, are they ever any good?
One suggestion was a TurtleBeach card - any suggestions of which TB card specifically - or other suggestions would be welcomed. The main thing I want to do is put some of my favorite music from my old LPs on to CDs.
If you are really concerned about the fidelity, I'd recomend a card with twin phono inputs (rather than mini-jack) and decent onboard electronics. For general listening the difference in quality is marginal, but if you are replaying through high-end hifi equipment it can really show. I've used both types (with the same source equipment) and the jack input has more noise and cross channel interference. But then again, I was replaying the CD at 2KW!
