I've installed Desktop on one test machine and poked around it a bit, but not used it extensively. It is tied to the same code base as SuSE Linux Enterprise Server. It is aimed at business desktop systems which explains the 5-license bundles. Pro, from an administrator's point of view, is the code doesn't change as often as SuSE Linux Home offerings. Con, from the user's pov, is the distribution contains fewer applications and those are generally business office apps. The server capabilities are limited compared to Professional. It has conservative adoption of new technologies. Don't expect the latest multimedia bells and whistles. However, I have done a little reading on SuSE Desktop, I was wondering if anybody had any experience with it and some good/bad points on it. I would like to find a good Linux Desktop OS for some Novice users. The only problem is that SuSE seems to only sell it in multiples of 5-user licenses. What's up with that? Jason Pacheco
