question about config.gz

Hi there, folks.

I was wondering, is there a way to retrieve the kernel
configuration from a /non-running/ SuSE kernel? I
can't boot this particular kernel to retrieve it via
/proc/config.gz, but I'd very much like to retrieve
the configuration...

Kernel 2.6 also offers the option to embed the
configuration in the kernel image and it's retrievable
from both the running kernel (via the /proc interface)
and the bzImage file (using some sort of tool). I'm
assuming SuSE's patch is similar in nature, so there
may be a way to get the config from the kernel image
file? Any help would be much appreciated.

Kind Regards,

//kj
