Remote connection to email

Dear All,
I am going out of town for 3 weeks and will be taking my laptop with me that has SusePro8.2 on it.
Is there any way that I can connect to my email account through linux no matter what part of the
country I am in? I hook up with cox cable internet at home. Everyplace I will be staying is also
connected to cable internet.
