Hey all, System: SuSE 8.2 pro edition. Card reader: LaCiE Hexa Media Drive
Problem: I can only mount the microdrive slot, not any of the others.
hwinfo --usb [with 1GB microdrive and 16MB smartmedia - both slot leds light up indicating they are recognised on the adaptor]: [snip] 05: SCSI 203.0: 10600 Disk [Created at usb.100] Unique ID: B3Fu.dxfYG9cb2s2 Hardware Class: disk Model: "Y-E CF Card Reader" Hotplug: USB Vendor: "Y-E DATA" Device: "CF Card Reader" Revision: "1.03" Serial ID: "00000000ED3F" USB GUID: 057b0020000000000000ed3f Driver: "usb-storage" Device File: /dev/sda Speed: 1.5 Mbps Size: 2104704 sectors a 512 bytes Geometry (Logical): CHS 1014/34/61 Config Status: cfg=no, avail=yes, need=no Attached to: #4 (Hub)
Try running this: #!/bin/sh echo "scsi add-single-device 0 0 0 0" > /proc/scsi/scsi echo "scsi add-single-device 0 0 0 1" > /proc/scsi/scsi echo "scsi add-single-device 0 0 0 2" > /proc/scsi/scsi echo "scsi add-single-device 0 0 0 3" > /proc/scsi/scsi cat /proc/scsi/scsi And see if the 'cat /proc/scsi/scsi' shows you at least the first 4 devices. If your RDR is like mine, each card is on it's own LUN (logical unit number) and you're only seeing the first one. The above assumes you don't have any other scsi controllers on your box. Also run the hwinfo --usb after the above and see if anything has changed.
I can mount /dev/sda[1] no problem, but I can't get it to recognize a card in any other slot. There are no more entries in the hwinfo --usb command related to this drive, and it used to work =o/
So, any thoughts on where to proceed from here? I would like to get it working and it *used* to work! I could mount the various slots, but something has happened... and I don't know what! argh :/
If i just put the smartmedia in, it doesn't recognize it.
With only the smartmedia in, with hwinfo --usb, I get: 05: SCSI 203.0: 10600 Disk [Created at usb.100] Unique ID: B3Fu.dxfYG9cb2s2 Hardware Class: disk Model: "Y-E CF Card Reader" Hotplug: USB Vendor: "Y-E DATA" Device: "CF Card Reader" Revision: "1.03" Serial ID: "00000000ED3F" USB GUID: 057b0020000000000000ed3f Driver: "usb-storage" Device File: /dev/sda Speed: 1.5 Mbps Size: 2097151 sectors a 512 bytes Geometry (Logical): CHS 1023/64/32 Drive status: no medium Config Status: cfg=no, avail=yes, need=no Attached to: #4 (Hub)
So itcomplains of "no medium". Argh :/ Heeeeeeeelp please !
Thank you for your time and patience.
