in my case virtual system START then if i press F2 for enter into the virtual Bios.. vmware hangs... i've tried to pass the pci=noacpi and aci=off but doesn't work !_! but i may have the modified vmmon.o and vmnet.o and maybe this is the problem.. if i can find that ^_^ i have installed a package named km_vmware but it seams to do nothing...
waiting.. thank Andrea
I have three computers running 9.0 and VMware now sucessfully. In all three cases I had to use pci=noacpi. On my laptop I also had to add apci to the boot string. I also did the following: Installed the kernel source, cd /usr/src/linux, make cloneconfig, make dep and then ran vmware-config.pl and -let- it overwrite the modules. Ran fine after that.
