Dear Marshall,
I got this right after I used Main Actor to make a mpeg photo album with my jpeg stills. I figured out somewhat how to do it except I do not know how it will look on TV or after burning to a CD. I will have to try this eventually. Yes, I will do test runs first. I am not sure what you mean by pixelated but I have researched enough to know that for ntsc TV viewing that the photos need to be 768 x 576 . I do not know if it is better to resize in something like the Gimp first or to do so in Main Actor. If you discover anything about these procedures I would love to know about it.
Well you will not need to resize the pics. But for VCD, the size of the mpeg's resolution I believe 320x240 pixels . Another words, when you play it back, it will show up on your computer screen at that resolution. This is the resolution that a mpeg needs to have for it to burn as a VCD correctly. But YMMV. When I did it, the compression routine that was used caused the pictures to pixelize (another words when you play it back on a TV, you will see small blocks and not a smooth pic like what I was expecting). You will have to follow certain guidelines in order for you to make a mpg file that can be burned to a CD as a VCD.
It sounds like you made a real nice movie. Did you burn this as vcd?
Yes I did. I am thinking about remaking it to SVCD format and see if it looks any better. SVCD has a bigger resolution than VCD and should make the movie look better. I am going to do another one on our trip to Patriots Point in SC. This one will be a bit bigger and more complex.
Thanks for the info.
You are welcome!
