I just noticed your answer. Thanks for the advice. I have been researching this subject for days. There are ways indeed but many are complicated to me. I have noticed that Main Actor may help out alot afterall. I cannot find much documentation about it so far but if someone would know how to create mpeg stills in this program I would love to know how you did it.
Thanks,
Marcia
Marcia,
I have made a mpeg with MainActor from still photos. I'm talking about the one that comes with SuSE 8.2. This process is not hard but for me to try and explain it might be a lengthly email. You can also put the pictures to sound. For an example, I took some photos of my family visiting Ft. Macon (a historic Civil War fort). In MainActor, I was able to sequence them into a movie with the song "When Johnny comes Marching Home" playing in the background. If you want me to try and tell you, then you can email me off list and I will try and describe to you how to do it.
Be careful though, your pictures may become pixelated because of the compression that MainActor uses. You may want to do (once you know the procedure) do a test run before you commit to making a bunch of discs to share with others.
Dear Marshall, I got this right after I used Main Actor to make a mpeg photo album with my jpeg stills. I figured out somewhat how to do it except I do not know how it will look on TV or after burning to a CD. I will have to try this eventually. Yes, I will do test runs first. I am not sure what you mean by pixelated but I have researched enough to know that for ntsc TV viewing that the photos need to be 768 x 576 . I do not know if it is better to resize in something like the Gimp first or to do so in Main Actor. If you discover anything about these procedures I would love to know about it. It sounds like you made a real nice movie. Did you burn this as vcd? Thanks for the info. Marcia
