How do you get rid of it?
Hi Jason,
I had a similar problem with my SuSE 8.0 when I upgraded from "personal' to "professional." I did install some new rpms, from the "pro" CD's and I did change the source of installation using Yast2 (ie YaST Control Center --> Change Source of Installation").
But the change really didn't take effect and I had a similar error to what you are showing above. I then re-read the SuSE Admin Manual and figured out what I was doing was really an "install/upgrade", so I "rebooted" the machine, and then going to the initial screen I upgraded the system off the Pro CD 1, this changed a number of files and then after I rebooted again, I didn't get the error about "wrong installation source."
After which I was able to use YOU to install new rpms and it recognized my "new install."
I think you need to do similar, only using your ISO source, exaclty how you do that I don't know, but I hope this helps.
Friendly greetings, Gar
It might help to study the directory: /var/adm/YaST/InstSrcManager/ e.g. the directory IS_CACHE_0x00000001 holds the information for my system. I think that this must be updated in case you upgrade to another version. The easiest and most reliable way to do that would be with yast, just remove all source of installation references. -- Richard Bos Without a home the journey is endless
