I'm setting up a laptop for a person which doesn't
have too much experience with PC, needless to say with
Linux at all so I'm trying to make sure everything
works well. The problem is, that using kppp for dialup
I'm sometimes getting error 'Couldn't find interface
ppp0: No Such Device' and after a while connection
gets closed, but other times even with the same error
(it pops up only 1-2 times as oppose 5-10 times when
it fails) I get connected and everything works.
Occasionally, kppp wants to use ppp1 which really
doesn't exists. The only reliable way out of this mess
I have found so far is to unload modem driver and load
it back on.

Can anybody suggest what should I check/modify to make
this work reliable all the time? Below is a log which
shows failed connection after successful pap
authentication and IPCP.

Thx, Martin
