PS In 8.2 there was the same problem, but yast2 freezed Xfree - only the cursor was moving. I had to switch to console and `killall -9 y2base`, than return to Xfree.
Is this an out of the box problem or have you upgraded anything lately(like yast or XFree)? I hate to do this but it's working fine on my machine, upgraded with apt. I use a heavily edited sources.list though. -- E.F.Maurer Using SuSE 9.0 Pro
