Hey Group; I have a question about SuSE from about 8.0, 8.1, 8.2 and now 9.0 and the problem with TIOGEN (as I remember), /dev/console and /dev/tty1. It seems that only SuSE's kernels recognize the variable TIO whatever. This has now become a lack of understanding why and how this works ONLY with SuSE kernels? I have a favorite very small program called "ytree" which used to work on F1 through F6 as a command line ncurses directory viewer. However under 9.0 it works on F1 but fails to read the correct graphic part of terminals F2 through F6. It still works in X. Anyone have information on this subject. Sorry about the not remembering the complete variable name. It happens at boot time around "Showconsole". -- 73 de Donn Washburn __ " http://www.hal-pc.org/~n5xwb " Ham Callsign N5XWB / / __ __ __ __ __ __ __ 307 Savoy St. / /__ / / / \/ / / /_/ / \ \/ / Sugar Land, TX 77478 /_____/ /_/ /_/\__/ /_____/ /_/\_\ LL# 1.281.242.3256 a MSDOS Virus "Free Zone" OS Email: n5xwb@hal-pc.org " http://counter.li.org " #279316
