Mirrors are not the problem its getting out on a highspeed line that is. DSL is too expensive here and the university crapped up their system. if someone in a rood starts using wireless the link slows down to 28800 and ftp is limited to 30 minutes. if I knew where the damn box was I would disconnect it and let the data flow. All because some windows users might download music. CWSIV On Sat, 08 Nov 2003 03:19:17 -0500 GarUlbricht7@netscape.net writes:

Try an academic mirror like http://www.mirror.ac.uk/ There are mirrors like this all over Europe and probably in America. Perhaps even in the United States.

I am sure JDL was writing the above with his tongue in cheek. As he well knows, there are good mirrors in US, like "chuck," "usc" and "oregon state" see: http://www.suse.co.uk/uk/private/download/ftp/int_mirrors.html (this SUSE html also lists mirrors for Brazil and Canada, too)
I have found that if "usc" asks for a password, if a try few minutes later it usually lets me in without a password. It may be that if it's busy, it defers to students, but with a little patience... they are there for "public" use. HTH
