Alright, this is crazy. On the CDs, I can only find what appear to be compiled kernel images and modules. For example, I have what is called k_deflt-2.4.19-74.i586.rpm which kpackage tells me has only binaries and no sources. This sounds so dumb but if someone has the SuSE 8.1 CDs, can they tell me where I can find the kernel sources and what it's called??
The kernel source is in a package called, er, kernel-source. Go into the YaST package management and do a search for it. It's not installed by default because it's enormous and most people don't compile their own kernels. --
