I am having trouble printing to a Samsung ML-1710 laser printer. Yast recognizes, installs and prints a test page but the printer does not accept print jobs in regular use.
Any ideas as to why this is happening? Is there something I missed?
Yast also complains about the ppd file included on the driver disk.
I would expect that Yast would have configured cupsd.conf correctly and the fact that I can print a test page should have ruled out any driver issue.
What are the error messages in /var/log/cups/error_log & /var/log/cups/ access_log? If the messages don't give you enough information then in /etc/cups/cupsd.conf set the loglevel to debug (about line 168). Don't set the log level any higher as you will be swamped with pages of messages with no real meaning. THe other thing to try is to reinstall CUPS just in case something got corrupted. -- Regards, Graham Smith ---------------------------------------------------------
