The best you can do is in prefs, uncheck "allow documents to use other fonts", and also set your monospace and proportional and minimum sizes all the same. It'll be boring, but more consistent.
site and I have to resize the fonts up to be able to read it, visit another site and it'll be fine, visit another an I have to resize the fonts again. But in Windows this doesn't happen. Is there soemthing I"m missing?

Shouldn't the 2 be the same?
Not necessarily. Most designers do try to make pages look as much the same as possible between IE6 and Mozilla/Netscape. Some don't care about Netscape/Mozilla at all, while others try with as many browsers as possible. Several years back, page designers were given extra control over text size (and other design elements), and most are now using it to override whatever your preferential default is set to. Most think your default is too big, regardless that they can't know what size yours is, or any other requirements you may have. Without URLs, there's no way to tell how or why any particular page renders the way it does. The problem is not inconsequential for anyone, but if you think it a problem for you, take a look at some problems the Mozilla and distro makers have to deal with at (look at the screenshot comparisons and some of the developer comments, particularly Ian Hickson and David Baron): http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=131236, https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=107803, http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=224263, http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=197037 and http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=4821 -- "God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble." 1 Peter 5:5 NIV Team OS/2 ** Reg.
